This course will allow the delegate to develop an understanding of facilitation and its benefits. They will develop skills and techniques which will enable them to ensure group members contribute effectively and achieve successful mutual outcomes.

To gain the most out of the training delegates are asked to bring along a topic which they will work on during the workshop and then facilitate a short session on, plus receive comprehensive feedback.

This course will enable you to

  • Understand what is meant by facilitation and the facilitation process
  • Be fully aware of the role of the facilitator
  • Have a practical understanding of the skills needed to be an effective facilitator
  • Work with different types of people in a group situation
  • Facilitate groups and receive feedback from the workshop facilitator and other participants

Who is the Course aimed at

For those who work in group situations and want to enable people to contribute effectively within the group and to achieve the group’s objectives. The group situations could be within the Council or in their communities – including community meetings, discussion groups, focus groups, project teams and team meetings.
