  • 9:30am - 12:30pm

Overview

This workshop is intended to provide staff who work alone with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage the risks of working alone. Delegates will consider their own working practices and what measures can reduce the risks that lone workers face.

The focus of the course will be on strategies to correctly assess & manage risk and take appropriate measures to mitigate them. This would include logging in/out procedures, risk registers as well as the ability to assess risk in a ‘live’ situation using a Dynamic Risk Assessment.

This course will enable you to

  • Define what is meant by the term ‘lone worker’.
  • Identify issues of personal safety for lone workers.
  • Examine the current level of knowledge regarding the Lone Working Policy.
  • Describe the different options to deal with possible conflict situations.
  • Experience the impact of physical stance and positioning on personal safety during an incident.
