Overview

A practical workshop exploring what trauma is, where it comes from, and how it can affect those who experience it. Together we’ll look at common causes of trauma — such as accidents, violence, disasters, abuse, and oppression — and learn to recognise the ways people may respond.

This course will enable you to

  • Understand the core principles of trauma-informed practice through case studies and guided discussions.
  • Gain tools to support and engage effectively with survivors.
  • Learn about self-care strategies for professionals, with guidance given on how to look after ourselves and encourage resilience in colleagues who may be responding to traumatic incidents.

Who is the Course aimed at

Anyone in a role where they may work with or support people affected by trauma, and those wanting to develop a trauma-informed approach in their workplace.
