Safeguarding Training for ADC Customer Facing Staff (Mandatory)

Overview

Arun District Council is committed to ensuring the safeguarding of children and adults to prevent harm and abuse regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity.

Children don’t always have the means to access help, or recognise that they may be exploited. An adult may not be able to protect themselves from abuse or be aware that they may be taken advantage of, particularly if the cause of the risk may be a friend or family member, or they may have a fear of services becoming involved.

Here at Arun, our approach is that safeguarding is the responsibility of us all, for some departments safeguarding is something that regularly arises in operational duties, but for others it may be less common.

This course will enable you to

  • have increased confidence for those in customer facing roles for the signs of potential harm and abuse,
  • have increased confidence in reporting concerns in line with the Council’s safeguarding policy and procedures
  • help understand the different legislation that applies to child and safeguarding and other pathways to support.
